Graid Technology Uses Tech Data To Scale-Up Speedy Flash Solution - IT Europa

(IT Europa.com, Antony Savvas, October 11, 2022)

SupremeRAID sits in front of SSD arrays and directly processes I/O out of path to deliver unparalleled throughput, and free up CPU resources for high performance applications.

TD Synnex/Tech Data is to distribute a neat RAID controller from Graid in the EMEA region, which removes the traditional RAID processing bottleneck to “deliver maximum flash storage performance”.

Graid says its SupremeRAID software loaded onto a Nvidia controller board sits in front of SSD arrays and directly processes I/O out of path to deliver “unparalleled throughput”, and free up CPU resources for high performance applications.

Tom Paquette for Graid Technology

At this week’s IT Press Tour across Silicon Valley, which IT Europa is attending, Thomas Paquette (pictured), SVP and GM for the Americas and EMEA, said TD Synnex/Tech Data would be formally announced as an EMEA-wide distributor “soon”, as the vendor targets the UK, Germany and France first as part of its scale-up effort using a two-tier channel model.

The company already has resellers in the likes of Germany, Italy and the Nordics, which include server sellers that can OEM the product. Distributor ARROW is also active in the region and system integrator Atos is already using the technology for its clients too.

Next year, the firm is planning a big extension out of the enterprise market and into the data centre segment, with the likes of AMD expected to take a big interest in the offering for its data centre systems, following previous conversations, said Paquette.

He added that data centre operators such as OVH and Equinix would be among those targeted in the market next year.

Paquette said: “We are looking for more partners who sell servers and more distributors. The channel is far friendlier in Europe than North America for a product like this."

At the moment, the Nvidia cards carrying  Graid’s software cost between $2,500 and $3,995.

Graid Technology founder and CEO Leander Yu told the Tour the firm would be completing another funding round “late next year”, following a $15M series A round this January.
